S.A.F.E. Travel Tips

BEING SAFE IS A MINDSET, SPACE = SAFETY

DO’S DONT’S
LOOK AROUND

not only when you cross the street, parking lot, also when you are about to leave or enter your destination

LOOK DOWN

Don’t be distracted by your phone, put it in your pocket, pocketbook, etc. hands -free means safety

HUBER/LYFT

be sure to confirm type of car, license plate, before getting in the vehicle and there should be a visible sign to indicate it is an official transportation vehicle

ASSUME

don’t assume the car is for you if it stops. Take the time to complete your safety check, you’re worth it

SHARE

Be sure to tell a trusted friend or relative the license plate and destination so someone else knows where you are traveling to

DON’T OVERSHARE

No need to post on any social media site your travel plans for the day, week etc. At least wait until you get home, no need to tip off any potential troublemakers

ASK

Who are you here for? and wait for a response, they should know if you booked the ride, if they don’t know, don’t enter the vehicle, or have them call dispatch

Be Sure not to say…

“Are you here for Sally?”

Don’t provide any info.

The Palm Heel Strike

  1. Use either hand, extend the heel of the hand tightly towards face, making sure to keep fingers close together
  2. Fingers must stay close to prevent being grabbed or pulled
  3. Deliver strike underneath the nose or chin, exhale upon impact of strike. Make sure hand is at full extension, other hand should be up and ready to deliver a follow up strike, one isn’t enough ….

Be Safe …
